The follow up to Mamma Mia!, titled Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, has been a box office hit in the UK. It made £9.74m for its UK opening, which is actually the fourth biggest figure of the year – the only films to do better were Avengers: Infinity War, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom and Black Panther. And it was still the 2nd most popular box office film in its 11th week of release. That’s not bad for a film that nobody was entirely sure how to take – was the world ready for another Mamma Mia! film? It seems that we were.
The film brings back many of the much loved characters from the first film, with Sophie running the Bella Donna hotel whilst her mother is travelling. Once again, there is heartache, hilarity, and a lot of singing. You will either love it or hate it – but it looks like most are loving it.
